Support liftingstones.org and the newsletter

liftingstones.org letters is a reader-supported publication, and there are multiple ways you can help support it.

liftingstones.org documents lifting stones, the cultures around them, and their stories from around the world. It's grown into one of the largest stonelifting archives online, with a map, a stone directory, and dozens of articles read hundreds of thousands of times. It's run by me, Dave Brown.

Why support

Basically everything I do is free, and I'd like it to stay that way so I can keep information about stonelifting accessible to everyone. I don't place any banner ads – like some news publications who assault your screen with top ads, bottom ads, video popups, and ads spliced between every paragraph – and I have no sponsors.

But the project has costs: web hosting, domains, research costs, and subscriptions to services – like Ghost(Pro) that Letters runs on, and my email service. The project also costs a lot of time.

Support from people like you helps keep the project sustainable and independent without the need to rely on ads.

If the site has helped you find a stone, plan a trip, or you've just enjoyed reading, this is one of the ways you can say thanks.

Ways to support

Buy something from the shop

You can buy my stonelifting training guide, Stonelifting Sessions, or browse the shop for other stonelifting-related products. You support the project and you get something in return. This is how I prefer people support the project.

Become a newsletter supporter: $5/month or $50/year

Supporters of the newsletter unlock the full 2022 newsletter archive, the first year of the letters, which is otherwise locked. The annual plan works out to two months free.

If you're already a supporter, you can gift a supporter membership to your friends and family!

Send a one-off tip

If you're not interested in buying products or becoming a newsletter supporter, you're welcome to leave one-off tips. Every contribution, regardless of the amount, goes directly towards running the liftingstones.org site and the Letters newsletter.
